Glyph is for people who want the ownership and portability of plain Markdown with more built-in project structure than a minimal editor. It occupies a middle ground between Bear's polished personal library and Obsidian's extensive plugin ecosystem.

The app is still in early access, and its official macOS build is currently unsigned, so the first launch requires manual approval in Privacy & Security. AI features also inherit the privacy, cost, and reliability of the chosen local model, agent subscription, or external provider.

Glyph supports macOS 10.15 or later. Notes remain as local Markdown files, its search index can be rebuilt, and the developer says the app has no telemetry or cloud sync. Provider-backed AI sends relevant content directly to the provider configured by the user; Ollama can remain local. Initial license activation and automatic update checks require internet access. The source is available under the GNU AGPLv3 license.

Glyph has a seven-day free trial. The personal license is a $24.99 one-time purchase, currently reduced to $14.99 with the published EARLYACCESS code; the promotional price may change.
