Dayflow is best for developers, freelancers, and other knowledge workers who want an automatic account of their day without maintaining a conventional timesheet. It is particularly useful when self-review, standups, or client updates depend on remembering scattered work.

It is not appropriate for anyone uncomfortable with activity recording, even when storage is local. Local AI can also demand more battery and GPU resources, while cloud AI changes the privacy model.

Dayflow requires macOS 14 or later. Full recordings and the database remain on the Mac, and local AI can keep analysis on-device.

If Dayflow Pro or a bring-your-own cloud model is selected, chosen screenshots are sent to that provider for analysis. Activity recording remains sensitive regardless of storage location, so pause capture and delete records when appropriate.
