IINA is a free, open-source media player built specifically for macOS. It combines the broad file-format support and playback engine of mpv with an interface, gestures, and system behavior designed to feel at home on a Mac.

Privacy and requirements
The current IINA release requires macOS 12 on Apple-silicon Macs or macOS 10.15 on Intel Macs. Local playback does not require an account, but online streams, subtitle searches, browser extensions, plugins, and youtube-dl integrations make network requests to their respective services. Treat third-party plugins and remote media URLs as separate trust decisions.
